Five Energy Hacks to Manifest a Peaceful Election Night With Your Family


On election night, millions of Americans will hunker down for an anxious night in front of the TV. With frayed nerves, restless glances, and nails bitten down to nubs, how can passionate voters set aside the anxiety and focus instead on creating a calm and comforting atmosphere?


As a Belgium-born European citizen, whilst my expertise may not lie in American politics, I can offer a range of simple yet effective manifestation hacks to help keep you and your family calm and comfortable on election night!


1) Smell 

  • Light a Vanilla Candle / Spray Lavender Mist: Lighting a vanilla candle will calm the energy in the room, and spraying lavender mist (or using a lavender diffuser) is great for calming the nerves. Not only that, it can help cleanse and purify against any lingering negative energies. 


2) Sight 

  • A Touch of Orange: Add some orange flowers, orange candles, or even a bowl of oranges to your space. The color orange always causes us to feel happy and joyful, like we’re celebrating. It’s also a grounding color, so when you’re very hyper or nervous, orange will help center you.


  • Portrait of Your Presidential Candidate: Align your room with your candidate of choice to promote positive energy! If you’re a Democrat, put a picture of Kamala Harris in the western part of the room — Kamala is a West Coast woman, as a former Senator from California who was born in Oakland. If you’re a Republican, put a picture of Donald Trump in the eastern part of your room — Donald is an East Coast guy, born in Queens, NY and with homes in Florida, NJ, and Manhattan.


3) Touch

  • Surround Yourself in Softness: Have soft blankets or pillows around you while you’re watching the election results come in. With all that softness surrounding you, your mind will feel calmer and more at ease. In addition, wear soft clothes like pajamas, sweatpants, or a hoodie so you feel more in a cocoon of energy. 


4) Hearing 

  • Mind the Volume: The higher the sound on your TV, the higher your stress and overwhelm will be. And definitely stay away from using headphones and blasting yourself with constant information. Keep the volume at a calm, reasonable level one where you can watch along and still have a normal conversation with your loved ones. 


5) Taste 

  • Supply Something Scrumptious: Enjoy some comfort food together while the results are coming in. Make sure to serve the favorite foods of everyone there so everyone feels at home, comfortable, and included. Eating food together is a calming and bonding time, and with this in mind, don’t use paper plates and plastic utensils. Make sure to use your best cutlery and dinnerware to make it a night together to remember.
